This Request for Proposals (the “RFP”) is an invitation by the Corporation of the City of Peterborough (the “City”) to qualified prospective proponents to submit proposals for Climate Change Action Plan 2.0 – Community Pathway to Net-Zero 2050, as further described in Section D.1 of the RFP Particulars (Appendix D) (the “Deliverables”). 

The plan will enable the City of Peterborough to chart a decarbonization pathway to lower greenhouse gases (GHG) from community emission sources. The plan will determine the best approach in reducing GHG emissions that can achieve net-zero community emissions by 2050. The plan will describe how recommended abatement measures can decrease emissions by detailing abatement action’s estimated GHG reduction potential, expected cost of implementation, role of the City, and targeted timeline for introduction. The plan will investigate the role of buildings, mobility, and green infrastructure can be favoured to elicit significant mitigation responses to achieve net-zero. Upon approval by Peterborough City Council, the plan will be installed as the official climate action document to guide municipal staff over the next 25 years.
